I wanted to share an update after using our Philodo Falcon bikes for elk hunting in the Colorado mountains. We purchased 2 Falcon ebikes in February in preparation for our annual Colorado elk hunt this September.
Before the hunt, we took the bikes on vacation several times and tested them in Oklahoma at Beavers Bend State Park, and we loved them. This week, we were able to use them to pack out an elk. Both bikes performed exceptionally well and made the pack-out job much easier.
They were easily loaded into our toy hauler attached to the back of our SxS. We purchased the double rack and adapter so we could haul them with our truck, trailers, or SxS, and they rode securely from Texas to Colorado with no issues. We had a few days to scout for elk before the season opened, and the bikes performed exceptionally well. Since buggies can only go so far on many of the trails, the bikes were great for getting us closer to the action quietly.
We used our step-through Falcons to haul out the meat and antlers. Falcon performed wonderfully, making the pack-out job much faster and easier. On a few steep climbs, we walked beside the bikes, and the walk-assist feature did all the heavy lifting. Thanks to the bikes, we were all back at camp in time for dinner. Everyone agreed they will be purchasing Falcons before next season!
We ended up filling 5 out of 10 elk tags at our camp this bow season. After tagging out, my favorite days were spent riding through the mountains, fishing for trout, and taking in the scenery. We are already planning for next year!
